Since 2023, bottle up has supplied Strand Palace Hotel with its plant-based, reusable bottled water solution as part of the hotel's commitment to reducing waste and promoting more responsible consumption. The initiative sees pre-filled reusable bottles placed in guest rooms, supported by conveniently located Elkay bottle-filling stations on every floor, encouraging guests to refill and reuse throughout their stay.

As a result, the partnership is helping to eliminate the need for more than 520,000 single-use plastic bottles every year, delivering a substantial environmental benefit while creating a more engaging and practical experience for hotel guests.

Unlike traditional single-use bottled water offerings, guests are encouraged to take their bottle up with them during their stay and even take it home afterwards. This not only extends the life of the bottle beyond the hotel visit but also reduces waste handling and disposal requirements for the hotel.

Building on the success of the partnership, bottle up has recently invested in a bespoke Strand Palace-branded bottle, which has now been rolled out across the hotel. The custom-designed bottle combines sustainability with brand visibility, creating a lasting reminder of the guest experience while reinforcing Strand Palace’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

“The partnership with Strand Palace demonstrates how hotels can make meaningful progress towards their sustainability goals while simultaneously improving the guest experience,” said Andrew Eversden, co-founder at bottle up. “The introduction of the bespoke Strand Palace bottle takes this a step further, creating a unique branded asset that guests genuinely want to keep and reuse.”

The bespoke bottle delivers a dual benefit for hotels: it acts as a powerful branding and marketing tool while supporting measurable sustainability objectives. By giving guests a reusable bottle that they can continue to use long after their stay, hotels can extend their brand presence beyond the property while reducing their reliance on single-use packaging.

As the hospitality sector continues to seek practical solutions to reduce waste and improve sustainability credentials, bottle up is looking forward to welcoming more hotel partners to its growing network.

The renewed partnership highlights how innovative, reusable solutions can help hotels reduce their environmental impact without compromising on guest satisfaction; proving that sustainability and exceptional hospitality can go hand in hand.
